Windfire Yoga Retreat Schedule

During the Foundation and Intermediate Courses we offer yoga classes six days a week, with the exception of Saturday. Monday to Friday there are morning classes that begin at 8.00 am and finish around 12.30pm taught by Godfri. These classes begin with guided pranayama practice, followed by guided asana practice. Following savasana there is more guided pranayama, followed by meditation. After the meditation there is a talk on the practicalities, depths and subtleties of yoga practice: during which you are free to ask any questions about your practice.

The afternoon classes are taught by Olivia from 5.00pm to 7.00pm and provide a fruitful opportunity for you to clarify the subtleties of the yoga method in a more interactive context. During the Foundation Course there are afternoon classes on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. During the Intermediate Courses there is always a Sunday afternoon session, and at least two others, sometimes more.

The morning classes are followed by a generous vegan brunch. Please be sure to inform us of your dietary needs so we can do our best to accomodate them. We also provide a second vegan meal in the evening at 7.00pm. On Saturday and Sunday morning we provide a light vegan breakfast. Fruit and tea are freely available throughout the day. It is permitted to take food and drink into the yogashala.

All our yoga retreat classes are given within the fertilising context of Patanjali's ashtanga yoga, and link yoga postures together into a vinyasa flow of dynamic yoga practice that balances the energising and nourishing elements of traditional hatha yoga. In the occasional instance that the postures being used are unhelpful to any student, individualised modification and instruction is given. If you have an existing physical injury please also be sure to let us know.
