TRAINING AND PRACTICE SEQUENCES
VINYASXANDRASYA This Training Sequence focusses on establishing the dynamics of integrity in the whole body. This is achived in a sequence of mainly symmetrical ullola and postures that present no real challenge to either flexibility or strength, while opening all the moror joints and strengthening all the motor muscles. The sequence invites a deep sensitivity to muscular sensation, and to the impact of action on the joints. USED IN THE METHOD WEEK
VINYASAXAKRASYAThis Training Sequence focusses on establishing the spiral dynamic of integrity that prepares the whole body for activation of the bandhas. The mainly symmetrical postures use opposition in the motor muscles of the arms and legs to establish functional integrity between all the body parts: especially the ribcage and pelvis. USED IN THE DYNAMIC WEEK
VINYASAXIKITSA This Practice Sequence focusses on establishing the bandhas in each part of the body. The series includes xandranamaskar, standing and supine postures and inversions, sequenced to reinforce the activation of the bandhas in the whole body so that they become the spotaneous, inevitable expression of action. USED IN THE INTEGRATION WEEK
VINYASMERASYA. This Practice Sequence establishes deep, strength in the core spinal muscles, while opening the supporting joints of the upper and lower body. The series focusses on extensions and rotations, and includes xandranamaskar and inversions. It is a maintaining practice that provides deep nourishment to body and mind, and promotes good posture and longevity. USED IN THE PRACTICE WEEK
VINYASADANDASYA. This Practice Sequence releases and strengthens the back, while loosening the hamstrings. It improves the mobility of the spine and pelvis while developing deep core strength. The series focusses on strengthening backbends and forward bends and includes xandranamaskar and inversions. USED IN THE PRACTICE WEEK
VINYASANIXISYAThis Practice Sequence releases each part of the body from habituated tension and overexertion. The series focusses on the closed standing postures that invite deep structural integration by creating deep release in all the joints of the body, while strengthening their supporting muscles. USED IN THE PRACTICE WEEK
VINYASABUJASYA This Practice Sequence reverses the energy flow sending it down from the higher to the lower chakras. This has a deep softening and rejuvenating effect. It allows the body to open deeply and easily. At the same time it counters negative effects of distorted kundalini by settling and grounding unstable energy flow. USED IN THE PRACTICE WEEK
VINYASAVAJRASYA This Practice Sequence mobilises and strengthens the spine. It focusses on gentle backbends that open, strengthen and mobilise the spine. This develops spinal flexibility while simultaneously strengtheing the body parts that support the spine. The series includes xandranamaskar, lunges, balances, backbends and inversions. VINYASASAMASYA This Practice Sequence focusses on maintaning integrity, strength and mobility in the whole body. It is a balanced, maintaining practice that generates deep physiological and energetic nourishment. It includes xandranamaskar, ullola, standing poses, lunges, balances, extensions, rotations and inversions. USED BY SOME IN THE SELF PRACTICE WEEK
VINYASAVIRASYA This Practice Sequence develops strength and stamina in the motor muscles of the limbs, ribcage and pelvis. This series focusses on balancing postures: including leg and arm balances. This is a chalenging but accessible practice which will quickly develop strength and stamina. USED BY SOME IN THE SELF PRACTICE WEEK
